OUR PHILOSOPHY
These 8 commandments reflect our approach to creativity and storytelling.
1.
RESPECT BUT DO NOT REVERE
The heart of strong satire is speaking truth to power. We must not be afraid to call out flaws of esteemed people or institutions. Comedy dethrones, so aim at targets of high status - punch up.
2.
YOU ARE NOT YOUR IDEA
If you relate personally to your idea, you will squirm when it gets pressed and contorted. Be willing to let your idea change beyond recognition, or sometimes go away, to serve the needs of the project.
3.
DO THE WORK
The eureka moment is overrated. The creative process is not magic. Don’t sit and wait for inspiration - set a deadline and hunt down inspiration (and when you find it, recall #2 above).

4.
CREATE FROM ABUNDANCE
Love every idea for a little bit and give it space to grow. Allow yourself to discover what works, and then distill away anything that doesn't.
5.
INVEST IN A POINT OF VIEW
It makes you interesting. Dare to polarize your audience.
6.
PLAY TO THE HEIGHT OF YOUR INTELLIGENCE
Trust your audience's ability to make the connection. The experience will be more rewarding for all parties.
7.
BE CONCISE AND BE SPECIFIC
When you have your audience's attention, make it count. Just get to the dinosaurs already.
8.
THE OBSTACLE IS THE WAY
Difficulty along the path should not only be expected, but embraced. These challenges will force you to innovate and will fuel your growth.
